Nigel's specialty areas include capital gains tax, business restructures, consolidations, international tax, state taxes and most areas of corporate taxation. Nigel previously worked in the Advising and Audit areas of the ATO and a 2nd tier firm prior to joining MKT in 1998. Nigel is a CPA, a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia, a member of the WA CCI Tax Committee, a member of the TIA Education Committee and active member of the North of the River CPA Discussion Group. Nigel also holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Taxation from the University of New South Wales.

Justin joined MKT in February 2002, having spent 11 years in the tax and business services division of 2nd tier and big 4 firms. Justin is a Chartered Accountant and is also a fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia and is actively involved in the Institute of Chartered Accountants CA program. He has extensive experience in the provision of business services and taxation advice, to high wealth individuals, medium size business entities and listed companies, with a focus on capital gains tax and superannuation.

Sean has specialised in taxation since 1985, with a particular focus on CGT, business restructuring, managed investment schemes and tax consolidations. He has been a regular presenter for the professional bodies on tax issues affecting companies and small business. Sean heads MKT's Accountants Network that provides tax advisory and training support to over 180 West Australian accounting firms. Prior to joining MKT in 1994, Sean spent 9 years in the Advising and Audit areas of the ATO. Sean is a CPA, a member of and past State Councillor and WA Education Chairman of the Tax Institute of Australia, and holds a Graduate Diploma in Advanced Taxation Law (University of NSW).

Ben has completed a double major in Accounting and Taxation at Curtin University. Ben joined MKT in 2003 and is actively involved in the management of the tax compliance of our large corporate entities. Ben is a member of the Taxation Institute of Australia and is a Chartered Accountant.

Mimi is a Certified Practicing Accountant and a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia. In her role as a tax consultant with MKT, Mimi has provided consulting services to corporate clients including publicly listed companies and SMEs, on a wide range of GST and general income tax matters. Mimi has developed a strong working knowledge of the GST legislation, particularly in relation to property developments and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining MKT in 1998, Mimi worked for 4 years as Accountant and Administration Manager for a local placement agency where she gained extensive knowledge in all areas of accounting.

Walter's specialties include corporate restructuring, mining taxation, global tax strategies and tax-effective capital raisings. Walter has been closely involved in professional development activities of the ICAA both nationally and in WA.

Alicia has completed a double major in Accounting and Finance at the University of Western Australia. Prior to joining MKT in August 2005, Alicia worked for over three years in the business services division of a second tier accounting firm while gaining her qualification as a Chartered Accountant. Alicia is also a fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia.

Chris is a recent addition to the team at MKT, having joined MKT from a West Perth middle tier accounting firm in February 2008.  Chris brings to MKT experience gained from work in the Business Services, Corporate Tax and Tax Consulting fields as well as in Commerce.  Chris is a member of CPA Australia.

Eric Ballard
Senior Tax Accountant

Eric joined MKT in 2009 having 5 years of experience providing business and taxation services to a diverse range of clients. Eric is a qualified Chartered Accountant and associate member of the Taxation Institute of Australia. His current professional interests include corporate and mining taxation. Eric intends to complete the Advance Taxation module with the Taxation Institute of Australia during 2010.

Jeremy is a Certified Practising Accountant. Prior to joining MKT, Jeremy had about 8 years experience in Business Services and Taxation gained from mid-tier firms, with a focus on Self- Managed Superannuation Funds. Jeremy is also Treasurer on the Board of the Performing Arts Centre Society in Perth (Blue Room).

Linken has completed a bachelor of commerce, double majoring in Accounting and Management. Linken is currently enrolled in the Charted Accountants Program and is also a member of the Taxation Institute of Australia.

Stephen has a Diploma in Accounting at Leederville Technical College. Stephen joined MKT in September 1999 after spending 13 years as Accountant of a subsidiary of a major public company, where he was responsible for all accounting, cost accounting and administration functions. His strengths lie in developing reporting systems, committing to tight time restraints and networking with fellow Team Members. Stephen has a keen sense of humour and uses it towards keeping the morale at MKT high.

Trish joined MKT in October 1999 and has extensive experience as a bookkeeper in the finance industry. For the last 3 years in her last position, Trish was promoted to Finance & Administration Coordinator, where she had previously acted as bookkeeper for 6 years. Her strengths lie in her accuracy, efficient time usage and ability as a reliable Team Member.
